Head Coach 07 Croydon Korfball Club is delighted to announce that Dave Butters will be continuing as head coach for the forthcoming 2007/08 season. Dave commented: "Following on from last seasons promotion, I am looking forward to both playing and coaching in the National League Premier Division next season, which will require hard work from both players and myself. With the 1st team back within the Premier League, a large broad base of players and a very strong social element, the future of Croydon Korfball Club looks bright" Sarah Withers, representing CKC's committee commented: "Last season, Dave helped us gain promotion back to the Premiership and also led us to the semi-finals of the Cup - the first time a non-premiership team has managed this. Dave has an enormous amount of korfball experience and we look forward to having him at the helm of the CKC ship again next season." Dave's korfball CV is compelling, he will be the most experienced player playing in the EKA National leagues, having been there since inception in 1986. He has won 7 National League titles and 7 BKA cups. Dave also has international honours for GB achieving a Bronze medal in the U21 European Championships in 1986, another Bronze in the Senior World Championships in 1987 coached by the famous Rudi Raemakers and a further Bronze medal in the U23 Euro Championships in 1988 coached by Peter Allan. Dave retired from international korfball after competing in the Senior European Championships in 2002 and has since been concentrating on domestic korfball with Croydon KC.
