CKC Race Night A Huge Success After several months of careful planning, the evening arrived for the CKC Race Night. Over 90 people turned up for an evening full of high drama. Hosted by guest Jockey Dom, the crowd were treated to some pre-race laughs before the serious business of the races got underway. With drinks flowing and everyone enjoying the buzz, the action at the tote was fast and furious. The evening got underway with the first three races of the evening, before an interval of a fish and chip supper for all was served. With bellies satisfied, the action got swiftly underway again. Spurred on by previous wins or with losses to make up, the betting continued apace for the final three races of the night, the last of which was an auction race. The promise of a big payout in the auction race brought out the heavy hitters. Strategies differed, some tables choosing to pool their funds while other went it alone. When all was said and done with the auction, top prize was set at £100, and was duly picked up by Kerry (and co.). For those licking their wounds there was still the chance to pick up some great prizes in the raffle. Big shout out to Kathy (and team) on securing some awesome prizes. There was time enough left for a few final drinks, tales of near misses, and music from DJ Phil. A big thanks to all those who organised and helped out on the night - you know who you are. Also a big thanks to everyone who came along and supported the club.
