Croydon Under 11s Find Top Form

On the 15th of January 2012 Croydon played 3 matches at Trinity School.

Our first match was against Nonsuch. Croydon started with the ball. Alfie passed to Antonio, who did a great long pass to Nicole. Who took a shot at the basket and scored 1-0 to Croydon. Nonsuch had the ball and were doing well until Alex intercepted the ball. We got it down to Croydon's part of the pitch and Nicole took another great shot at the basket and scored. Nonesuch had the ball again, one of the players threw the ball but it went wrong and Louise grabbed it and we got it down to our end with some brilliant passes and Kieran shot and he scored making the score 3-0 at the end of the game.

Straight after the 1st game we were on again against Trojans. We thought it was going to be tough. We started off with the ball. Jessica, Kieran, Alex and Natasha were on the defending side, and on the attacking side were Nicole, Antonio, Alfie and Louise. Alfie started with the ball again, and he did a great long shot to Antonio, who passed to Nicole, who passed back for Antonio to take a shot and he scored. Trojans got the ball but Alex intercepted it, Corydon had the ball and did some great passes and Louise took a shot and scored. Now Alfie, Antonio, Nicole and Louise were in defence. Trojans had the ball but failed at their passing, Nicole grabbed the ball and did some brilliant passes to the attackers and Kieran took a shot and scored. Corydon won 3-0.

We had a 30 minute break. Then we were back on to play our hardest match against Nomads. We didn't had a great score the last time we played against them but this time it was brilliant. Nomads started off with the ball but luckily we had Alex in defence so straight away he intercepted the ball. Alfie got the ball and took a shot and scored! The crowed went wild. Nomads had the ball again but we still had Alex in defence so, as you can guess what happened, he intercepted the ball passed to Nicole who passed to Jessica who passed to Antonio and scored 2-0 to Croydon and just after the whistle went we had won all the matches not letting a goal in. This was a huge achievement as last time we played against nomads we lost 4-2 so this was a great thing to achieve. After the match we rang our coach Anna and told her, she was really pleased with what we had done.

So we all went home feeling really pleased about ourselves and also proud.

Thank you to Mr Heath who coached us through the games and helped us believe that we could win, if Mr Heath wasn’t there we wouldn’t have had pride in ourselves.
