Croydon Korfball Club (CKC) is the biggest and oldest Korfball club in the UK, with a history spanning nearly 70 years to 1946. We are proud of our history, but are looking to our future, and we would like you to be part of it.
Opportunities at Every Level
CKC has 5 senior teams playing at every level of London Korfball. This coming season we will have places available in every team, including the first team, especially for female players. So if you are ambitious, committed, and love your Korfball, you could soon be playing in National League korfball next season!!
We also welcome people with open arms who are new to korfball or who haven't played sport for a while. We'll help you learn the game, and you can play at your level during training sessions.
Leading Facilities & Top Level Coaching
CKC trains at Monks Hill Sports Centre (Quest Academy). and plays at Royal Russell School, both in East Croydon. We have an incredibly experienced coaching set-up with international experience and several members of the club have played or refereed at the very top of the game, including in international competition.
Club training is on a Thursday night at Monks Hill Sports Centre. The 1st and 2nd team also train more competitively on Tuesday nights. Click here for more information on training sessions.
Playing costs are tailored to suit the type of member:
1st/2nd team squad: £30 per month (£360 pa)
3rd/4th team players: £18.33 per month (£220 pa)
Casual members: £7 per training session or match
Discounts are available for juniors, students, the unemployed and families.
Our 5 senior teams, compete in leagues from late October to early April each year. Throughout the Summer we also compete in many outdoor tournaments, most notably our own tournament on the first Sunday in July. This has been the biggest Korfball Tournament in the UK for some years, with around 50 teams playing, including some from Holland and other parts of Europe. Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, we travel to a Dutch tournament in Leiderdorp, near Leiden and stay with our great friends from Velocitas Korfball Club.
If you would like to come along and try the sport or would like more information then please contact Anna on . Remember your first 4 sessions are free!
Our juniors benefit from regular matches and summer tournaments such as the National Youth Day, but generally just have loads of fun while getting fit. Rather than competing in weekly leagues, junior teams meet every few weekends and play in "round robin" style competitions to maximise playing time. Older Juniors who are good enough, often move up and play in the senior sides when they are ready and several of our top senior team have come through the ranks.
