Croydon triumph at the LKA Pre-season TournamentCroydon 1 took on teams from Bec, Supernova and Nomads at the LKA Tournament in three 50 minute games. They started a little slowly against Bec with the visitor's John Bracey pegging back the blue and blacks but eventually Croydon built an unassailable 3 goal lead which they retained until the end. Next up were a scratch Supernova team and Croydon were quick to dominate racing to a 6-1 lead and it was only after they took their foot off the gas in the last 5 minutes that Supernova troubled the scoreboard again, by which time Croydon were in double digits. The final game of the day was against Nomads. Again this was a close battle, but despite a buzzer beater Croydon won fairly comfortably 16-15 in the end.
