"Tramspotters" claim bronze at Cardiff TournamentA crack scratch team of Croydon players and choice ringers travelled across to Cardiff for one of the last summer tournaments of the year. The Croydon players were Dan Pratt, Zu Omar, Karen James (in between being sick in the woods), Jane Belfourd (when she wasn't busy with her "real" team) and the Withers. The ringers included the ever-present Yuen Aw from Bec and fleeting appearances from Hannah Lorimer, Karen Sparrow and Heidi Terrington. After seeing off Gun It, Can't Touch This and Friendly Dragons and drawing 2-all with Bec 1, the 'Spotters found themselves top of the pool heading into the play-off matches. Here they quickly saw off Korf Your World to set up a semi-final against Wildcats. Despite some great goals and a valiant effort, Wildcats scored just before the whistle to win 8-7 in a close and exciting game. Tramspotters were a touch downbeat but not down and out and they romped home against Nomads 5-1 to claim a deserved bronze prize. Wildcats went onto beat Pure Magic in the final. Well played all and thanks to Karen for taking a sickie for the team. of 1 Report by: Andy | Updated by: Zuton
